Our
Maintenance Crew
Our aircraft are maintained
by experienced and dedicated, FAA certified,
factory-trained Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics (A&P).
Mechanics are trained on an initial and recurring basis.
Staff mechanics average over 9 years of aircraft
maintenance experience. Each aircraft is inspected and
maintained to the highest standards through an FAA
Approved Aircraft Inspection Program (AAIP) ensuring
constant and progressive attention to detail. To provide
for the highest aircraft availability and safety, ARCH
maintains nearly $1,000,000 in aircraft spares inventory
on site.
Our
Helicopters
ARCH operates 9 twin engine BK-117 helicopters.
These aircraft are among the fastest air medical helicopters
in the world, with a typical speed of 130 mph under
normal cruising conditions. The two powerful 727 horsepower
engines give the BK lifesaving speed. The rugged construction
features, large rear clamshell doors, large cabin space
and multi-mission capabilities make the BK one of the
most perfect helicopters for use in EMS and patient
transport. Arch also operates 2 brand new A-Star AS350
B2 model helicopters. These brand new A-Stars are equipped
with the latest in navigational aids including touch
button weather via satellite for instant weather conditions.
They are also equipped with Night Vision Goggles for
the pilot. The AS350 has a typical speed of 130 mph
under normal cruising conditions. All aircraft are equipped
with fully-rotational searchlights and wire strike protection
systems. Recently, ARCH has added a twin engine
BO-105 to their fleet. Like the BK, the BO-105 offers
lifesaving speed and system redundancy for safe operations.
The helicopters are geographically dispersed to maintain
responsiveness for emergency patient transport requirements.
Interior Configuration
The
BK-117 interior configuration provides full body
accessibility for patients in need of ALS (Advanced Life
Support) capabilities. Interior space has been designed
to accommodate additional medical personnel if needed,
and a full complement of emergency equipment.
Specialized transports such as intra-aortic balloon pump
or neonatal isolette transports are easily accommodated
by the interior size of the BK-117.
