Fixed Wing
Service
In addition to the emergency
helicopter services offered by ARCH, transportation can
be arranged by medical fixed wing. Fixed Wing services
are most often provided for non-emergent transfers for
patient comfort or convenience, utilizing the same
highly trained and experienced medical staff. The fixed
wing is also used for urgent or emergent patient
transports when the helicopter is unable to fly, either
due to weather conditions, or distances that may
preclude helicopter transport. All transports provide
bedside to bedside service to assure continuity of care.
Aircraft
ARCH
operates Beechcraft King Air B100 & B200 airplanes.
The King Air's are twin engine turboprop pressurized
aircraft. They are equipped with instruments for all
flight conditions, including direct navigation and color
radar for weather avoidance. The B100 cruises at 275
miles per hour and the B200 cruises at 300 miles per
hour. Both aircraft are capable of transports in excess
of 800 miles.
